Varkhol O. Potassium in burozems of the Outer-Carpathian and Pre-Carpathian hills (ecological and genetical analysis)

Object - potassium in brown soils. Purpose – to determine space and time changes of the potassium parameters in brown soil considering peculiarities of their origin and usage. Methods – field experiments and laboratory and analytical study, mathematical and statistical and comparative geographical methods. Theoretical result – was characterized the spatial dynamics of potassium depending on the ecological and landscape conditions and on the soil processes, and also time changes of potassium contents and its redistribution in profile. Practical result – examined indices of the potassium contents of the soil enabled to asses this contents both in the soil of natural ecosystems and in terms of its agricultural usage; established factors that define the potassium contents of the soil offer new approaches to the determination of the potassium contents of the soil of the Outer Carpathian and Pre-Carpathian mountainous areas, and also assessment methods of quantitative changes of the potassium contents. Novelty – peculiarities of the potassium contents of zone soils of the Outer Carpathian and Pre-Carpathian mountainous areas were determined for the first time; and also the dynamics of its dependence on the landscape conditions, its usage and main soil indices. Degree of application – results of this thesis are recommended for the usage by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, , the regional state project-technological centers of the protection of the soil fertility and product quality, the monitoring agricultural office. Certain statements of the thesis may be used in the educational process to teach such subjects as soil science and soil protection. The field is scientific-educational and nature protection.
