Bondus R. Reaction norm of potato plants to growing in the southern part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

Subject: influence of the specific conditions in the southern part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine on the manifestation of agronomic characters in potato cultivars and hybrids. Aim: to establish a rate of response of potato genepool separate components to cultivation conditions in the southern part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine and to define fitness of these conditions to the estimation of breeding material with the release of valuable specimens for selection. Methods: field, laboratory, statistics. Novelty: for the first time in the conditions of the southern part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine the response rate in separate components of the potato genepool on the complex of environmental conditions is established and the specimens with a wide rate of response are released and their breeding value is established. Results: expediency of the estimation of separate components of the potato genepool in the conditions of the southern part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine has been proved, that has allowedto release. Application stage: 2 trait collections and 4 separate valuable collection specimens have been registered in the NCPGRU. Application area: breeding institutions, AIC of Ukraine.
