The object - the information culture as the component of professional training of a future English teacher. The aim - to define and ground scientifically the pedagogical factors of forming information culture of future English teachers and to elaborate the methodological issues of their realization. The methods of investigation - theoretical, empirical, diagnostical, statistical. The practical results - the contents and the methodological issues of developing information culture of future English teachers and the recommendations on their use have been worked out. The novelty - for the first time the contents and the structure of the phenomenon "information culture of an English teacher" have been defined; the evaluation criteria of levels of developing information culture of a future English teacher and their indicators have been revealed; the levels of developing information culture of students of foreign language faculties have been characterized; the pedagogical factors aimed at the effective work on forming information culture of future English teachers have been defined and grounded scientifically; the notions "information culture", "information competence", "information skills" has been specified; the methodological issues on the problem of future foreign language teachers' training have got the further development. The degree of application is high. The sphere - pedagogical, institutions of higher education, English teachers' refresher courses.
