Ilnicka J. The loanwords of Georgean origin in the Ukrainian language

A problematic of lexical aspect of linguistic image of the world is researched. A lexical structure of the language is considered as a most typical expression of folk mentality and culture. Borrowings are analyzed in the context of the theoretical issues of language contact and contactology of the Ukrainian language. The role of extralinguistic and linguistic factors in the appearing of Georgean loanwords in Ukrainian is researched. We find typological features of the Georgian language, complicating the process of adapting the vocabulary of Georgian origin. Central problem of research is a phonetic-graphic, grammatical and semantic adaptation of loanwords of Georgian origin in the Ukrainian language. Special attention is given Georgian names and their own writing in the Ukrainian language. The recommendations about the pronunciation and spelling of the Georgean loanwords in Ukrainian are given. Thematic classification of the Ukrainian words of Georgean origin in Ukrainian texts is made.
