The work defines the notion of competitiveness of national tax system. Versatile toolkit for tax system competitiveness degree analysis is built. Key transformations of EU Member states' tax systems are defined and main European tax competition influence peculiarities have been learned. Measures aiming to improve Ukrainian tax system's competitiveness are proposed basing on comparative assessment of European countries tax competitiveness.
