The dissertation contains the results of theoretical and experimental research of the problem of formation of professional competence of future mathematics teachers by means of development of cognitive activity. In accordance with the tasks of the dissertation the author developed and scientifically verified the model of formation of professional competence of future mathematics teachers; defined pedagogical conditions of formation of professional competence of future mathematics teachers by means of development of cognitive activity; determined the levels and criteria of formation of professional competence of future mathematics teachers.
