Denisenko K. Geopolitics and geostrategy of France

The thesis covers the issues of geopolitics and geostrategy in France. The author studies the theoretical bases of geopolitics, defines the conceptual approaches of French geopolitical thought. The foreign policy of France faced significant changes in the postbipolar period. The end of the Cold War, transformation of the existing world order as well as the unification of Germany influenced the foreign policy of France. Under these circumstances France faced the necessity of conceptualization of its geopolitical interests on global, regional and local level. The search of France for new ways of self - realization within the framework of new system of international relations as well as a wish to play an active role on the world's stage, caused the activity of French researches in development of new geopolitical concepts.
