Essay

The object of the research is correctional and pedagogical work with the children suffering from spastic cerebral paralysis. The aim of the research is to ground theoretically, work out and approve experimentally the methods providing development of hands' functional abilities of the children aged 5 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis. The research methods used are theoretical, empirical, diagnostic, and statistical. The practical results are the following ones: the methods providing step-by-step development of hands' functional abilities of the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis have been elaborated on the basis of integration of pedagogical, psychological, social and medical approaches of correctional work; a complex of gaming exercises of correctional nature aimed at training motion activities and developing hands' functional abilities of the specified category of children has been worked out; the diagnostic techniques aimed at studying a state of hands' functional abilities of the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis have been worked out. The novelty of the research consists in the following items: the peculiarities of systemic and comprehensive approach realization in the correctional and pedagogical work aimed at developing hands' functional abilities of the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis have been scientifically grounded and specified; the indices of hands' functional abilities of the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis have been revealed; the criteria and levels of children's readiness for their motion activities to be trained have been elaborated and characterized; the reasons of the difficulties concerning the development of hands' functional abilities have been revealed; a didactic model of step-by-step motion activities mastering intended for the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis has been grounded; the essence of the notions "hands' functional abilities" has been specified; the peculiarities of a hands' functional abilities state of the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis and specific nature of their malfunction have been characterized; the methods, means and devices aimed at correcting motion malfunction of the upper extremities of the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis depending on dominating functional deficiency have been defined; theory and practice of the correctional work aimed at developing hands' functional abilities of the children aged 5-10 who suffer from spastic cerebral paralysis have got the further development. The degree of approval is high. The corresponding branches are pedagogical, rehabilitation centers, postgraduate education.
