The object of the research is a doll as the phenomenon of culture. The purpose of the research is showing up the phenomenon of a doll as a symbolic double of a human being in socio-cultural area. The used approaches: terminological, structure functional, system-defined, semiotic, historical and axiological etc. It is realized a complex culturological analysis of a doll in socio-cultural area of contemporaneity for the first time, the attention is paid to the problem of “puppetization” of a human being. The field of knowledge is culturology, theory and history of culture.
