Essay

The thesis deals with the problem of teaching future teachers English national and regional literary accents listening comprehension. The teaching methodology has been theoretically substantiated and practically elaborated. The contemporary state of such teaching has been investigated. English national and regional literary accents which are the aim of teaching future teachers listening comprehension have been specified. Five groups of phonetic listening comprehension difficulties have been discriminated. The place and role of teaching in forming future teacher foreign language communicative competence have been substantiated. The aim and content of teaching have been determined. The criteria of audio and video materials selection have been specified. The system of exercises to teach future teachers English national and regional literary accents listening comprehension has been worked out. The effectiveness of the suggested methodology has been verified and confirmed during the experimental teaching. Methodological recommendations as for its introduction have been developed.
