Essay

In the dissertation aesthetics of death is probed in Ukrainian literature of the close of XX - beginning of XXI century in the light of psychoanalytic interpretation. E. Paslikovskiy and O. Ul'yanenko are considered as the representatives of psychological- aesthetical ambipolarity in modern Ukrainian literature. The images of death presented in their works testify to thanatocentricity of the postmodern epoch. E. Pashkovskiy approaches the psychological type of neoexpressionist, whose religious world view is marked with peculiar eschatologism. On the basis of deeply emotional attitude towards life he utilizes the expressive comprehension of historical national catastrophes, but concentrates not death, as O. Ul'yanenko, but tragedy. For the sake of spectacle of death O. Ul'yanenko uses shocking naturalistic poetics, dethroning psychopathological individualism. The demonic mysticism, based on naturalistic exposure of human psychological shadow, longing for extraordinary selfrealization, is inherent to his artistic thanatology. The writer developed unprecedented for Ukrainian literature necrophilic Stylistics, combined with deinonizing of the Model of the world.
