Essay

This thesis is dedicated to the investigation of interferential changes in the Latin language that was used in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church at the end of the 16th-17th centuries and appeared as a result of contact of Latin with Ukrainian and partly Polish languages. Linguistic changes have been established at the phonetic and orthographical levels. At the morphological level formal and functional characteristics of Latin word forms have been determined. At the syntactical level the main tendencies of usage of declensional forms with and without prepositions have been described, as well as changes in the formation of subordinate clauses. A considerable development of vocabulary has been noted.
