Novgorodskyy R. The problem of socialization of an individual in the Pedagogical theory and practice of Ukraine in the 20th of the XX-th century

The research defines the integral scientific analysis of formation of basic conceptual theoretical and methodological approaches of home pedagogues to socialization of personality in pedagogical theory and practice of Ukraine in the 20th of the 20th century. On the basis of investigation of a large number of sources the author reveals the essence of socialization as a pedagogical phenomenon, formation and development of the idea of socialization of the school youth in the period under investigation. He systematizes the views of Ukrainian scholars on the problem of socialization; points out major ideas, tasks and the content of socialization; analyzes forms and methods of socialization in the institutions of social education. Major social and pedagogical ideas of the 20th years of the 20th century are actualized for the present-day conditions of the educational reform. Considerable number of unknown and little known documents and archival sources are introduced to scientific circulation.
