Yakiminska L. Actualization of peasant and cossack archetypes in world outlooks of Ukrainian people of the Steppe Bug River Region (second half of the XIX-early XXI Centuries)

The dissertation is dedicated to the investigation of world outlooks of the Ukrainian people in the light of social mental characteristics on the basis of rural population of Steppe Bug River Region which enables one to single out real ethnic elements of mentality of the Ukrainian people by their comparison. Mental characteristics peculiar to military and agricultural groups in time and space have been pointed out. Even expressions of social features in three time and space periods on the basis of analysis of verbal element of ethnic culture have been investigated. The dependence of actualization of archetypes on conditions of their existence has been traced. It has been proved that world outlooks on social origin, having not any ethnic foundation, sublimate towards traditional ethnic culture due to the changes in the way of life. The problem of correlation between the cossack and peasant types of mentality in Ukrainian traditional culture has been analyzed. As a result of investigation the peculiarities of rural population of Steppe Bug River Region have been considered also regional, social and ethnic specific has been presented in the historical retrospective.
