Essay

Object: Slovak verbs with variant government. Aim: To research the variance of verbal government in modern Slovak language in intrasystem and interlingual (Slovak-Ukrainian) aspect. Research methods used: descriptive, comparative, component analysis, statistical. Scientific novelty: the first research of the variance of verbal government in modern Slovak language in intrasystem and interlingual (Slovak-Ukrainian) aspect was made; systematized and analyzed the verbs taking into account their semantic relationships between components, described the types of syntactic variance of the governed case form, found productive models of the variant government in modern Slovak language, defined the verbs that form a zone of Slovak-Ukrainian interference within the verbal government. Practical significance: the possibility to use while teaching the theoretical course of syntax of modern Slovak language, Slovak as a foreign language, stylistics and standards of the language, while writing contrastive grammar of Slavic languages, in translation and lexicographical practice.
