Pischanska V. The Ukrainian Baroque icon in the artistic collections of the Dnipro Region: typology and peculiarities

The dissertation is devoted to the research of the ХVІІ - ХVІІІ century icons from the Dnipro region collection. In the course of the research the stylistic features of the PreDnipro icon painting have been distinguished. They are caused both by the Ukrainian Baroque icon aesthetics and the Cossack culture in particular. The transformation of the Prednipro icon painting canon that was going on at all levels of the icon poetry and aesthetics have been studied. The stylistics of the PreDnipro ХVІІ - ХVІІІ century icon has been distinguished, which gives the opportunity to take the PreDnipro icon (the Katerynoslav region in particular) as a peculiar art and a special type of the icon in the general picture of the Ukrainian Baroque icon painting.
