In the thesis the topical problems of the study of statistics elements in the conditions of profile differentiation of studies in the senior forms of the basic school are investigated; scientific approaches and methodical recommendations concerning the use of intersubject links in the study of mathematics and physics are analysed; psychological and pedagogical preconditions for forming pupils' notions of statistics are examined; the necessity for strengthening the applied orientation of studies of mathematics, with the aim of forming subject mathematical and particular professional competence of pupils of physical and mathematical profiles of studies, is grounded. In the work the scientifically grounded method of statistics elements study with the use of intersubject links between school courses of mathematics and physics has been presented; the methodological models of solving the tasks, which are connected with the development of separate components of the methodological system and their realization in the teaching process, are considered; the ways of intensification of statistics study process due to the use of information and communication technologies of studies have been illustrated.
