Kapustina T. Creation of spring triticale initial material for breeding for productivity and disease resistance

Object: peculiarities of the development of new line original material of spring triticale with high productivity and disease resistance. Aim: the establishment of the peculiarities in development of spring triticale breeding material with increased productivity and resistance to diseases and on this basis the creation of the new line material with a high level of grain yield, adaptation, grain quality. Methods: field, laboratory, statistic, measuring-weight. Novelty: for the first time manifestation peculiarities of quantitative traits in a new generation of the lines, specificity of correlations between economic traits and a degree of their inheritance and heritability are revealed. The peculiarities and parameters of their variation at creating a new line material are stated. Selection for parental forms' combinations for hybridization on high general and specific combining abilities as to main elements of productivity is improved. Results: the new breeding material of spring triticale with a higher quality is developed; the valuable lines characterized by higher productivity, filled grains, resistance to lodging, diseases and pests, with the improved biochemical and technological properties are obtained. Application stage: the developed breeding material can be used for breeding of new productive varieties. New variety of spring barley Solovei kharkivskyi has been created and registered in Ukraine. Application area: breeding institutions.
