Essay

This Ph. D work is dedicated to the research of history of mechanical-constructive department of Kiev office of Russian technical institute. The author on the basis of materials from archives researched the process of making-up and functioning of the department in the context of the development of native railroad science. Author has found out basic trends of scientific work of scientists-engineers, who was working at this department. Also, author defined organizational forms of its activity, and considered educational, scientific, pedagogical and social activity of the department.
