Object - the process of specialized training of prospective officers in a higher military educational institution; the aim - to find out the influence of theoretically substantiated and experimentally checked pedagogical conditions of forming professional orientation of prospective officers on the quality of their specialized training; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the pedagogical conditions of forming professional orientation of prospective officers have been theoretically substantiated and experimentally checked for the first time; the essence of professional orientation of prospective officers as an integral professional quality of personality has been specified; certain ideas concerning professional orientation of prospective officers as a component of their professional training have been further developed; results - the substantiated conditions of forming professional orientation of cadets have undergone an experimental check and should be implemented in the process of specialized training of prospective officers in higher military educational institutions of III-IV levels of Ukraine, theoretical ideas, methodological materials and practical results may be considered during cadets' classroom and out of class activities ; field - pedagogy
