The thesis for scientific degree of candidate of engineering sciences on spe-cialty 05.02.08-Production Engineering. - National Technical University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute", Kiev, 2009. The task of optimization of technological operation of lathe treatment of step billows is formulated, an objective function is certain, the mathematical models of limitations are developed and the algorithm of automatic search of extreme is created. It is well-proven that the productivity of roughing depends on the depth of cutting, thus dependence is carried by extreme character. The algorithm of automatic search of extreme is offered on the depth of cutting, the size of which is used for the calculation of amount of passage-ways and forming of trajectories of motion of chisel on draft passage-ways. The developed module of CAM-system of control lathe treatment of step bil-lows does not require the task of date of cutting, of the mode of cutting and choice of trajectories of motion from a technologist. He in the automatic mode determines fre-quency of rotation of spindle and longitudinal feed, which provide possible time of machining minimum, and also automatically generates the control programs for a ma-chine-tool with CNC.
