Sorochinskaya E. Activity of А. S. Raevskogo (1872-1924) in the context of development of railway transport

This thesis focuses on analysis of scientific, engineering, organizational and public activities of a prominent native engineer-designer is given Kharkov parovozobudivnogo and Putilovskogo of factories, scientist in industry of lokomotivobuduvannya and dynamics of hauling rolling stock, professor of the Petrogradskogo polytechnic institute of А. S. Raevskiy, it historical value and merits in to development of railway business at the end of the XIX century and at the beginning of the XX century. Basing on the systematization of different source materials the author describes the development of science and technology of railway transport in the Russian Empire and in Ukraine, comparing this process with that of abroad. It is well-proven that scientific and pedagogical work of scientist became the background of development of new ideas and projects in relation to subsequent technical researches.
