Essay

The object of the research is the process of critical thinking formation in future philologusts. The research methods are theoretical, empirical, diagnostic and statistical. The practical results are as follows: it has bee worked out the technique of critical thinking formation for students, future philologists and the recommendations for its realization; developed the system of creative tasks for critical thinking formation in future philologists with the technique of their phased implementation. The novelty of the research consists of the following items: the pedagogical conditions of critical thinking formation in students philologists via using the system of special creative tasks in English and the model of their realization have been defined and grounded at the first time. The essence of the notion "critical thinking of a philologist" has been characterized. The mechanisms of critical thinking have been disclosed and the criteria of critical thinking levels estimating are provided. The essence of the notion "critical thinking" has been specified. The high, sufficient, medium and low levels of critical thinking development have been characterized. The main demands and princilpes for composing of the system of creative tasks in English for critical thinking formarion in students have been defined. The methodology of foreign language teaching of future philologists has been successfully developed. The degree of approval is high. The corresponding branches are pedagogical, establishments of higher education, foreign professional education.
