Dissertation is dedicated to the research of international legal regulation of relations related to the disaster response activities. The author researches historical development of the concept of international cooperation in disaster response as well as the concept of international disaster response law. The detailed analysis of separate branches of international law were analysed in relation to different stages of disaster response. The author has defined the main principles of provision of humanitarian assistance to people suffering from natural disasters. The dissertation presents analysis of regional and bi-lateral cooperation on the issues of natural disaster response. The author has defined the perspectives of the further development of the concept. The author has analysed the work of the UN International Law Commission. The dissertation provides a detailed analysis of the legislation of Ukraine concerning protection of people in case of disasters.
