Subject: peculiarities of morphological features in parental forms, the generation from test crosses of blended species hybrids of potato. Aim: to determine phenotypic manifestation of traits in the components of crossing, hybrid generation and from self-pollination and on this basis to evaluate selection-genetical state of parental forms, interaction specificity of their genotypes at generation formation. Methods: field, laboratory, statistic. Novelty: for the first time in the conditions of the southern part of Polissia of Ukraine some peculiarities in agronomic traits' manifestation in potato species hybrids are established; their selection-genetical value is determined. The peculiar features of phenotypic manifestation of agronomic traits among the first tuber and the second generations are stated; combinations and parental forms with their effective genetical control are revealed. Dependence between traits' manifestation in the seedlings of the first year and the first and the second tuber generations is established. Combining ability in the potato species hybrids and their breeding value are defined. Results: the populations of real value as for their genetical state are formed, their practical potential and future prospects for the application of separate hybrids in breeding are defined. The donors of separate or several traits are distinguished, for the majority of these the vista for the selection of valuable forms with the application of hybridization compared to self-pollination is shown. The populations with a maximum frequency of selection of generations with high manifestation of separate or a complex of the agronomical traits in comparison with the best standards are obtained. Application stage: 22 hybrids valuable for breeding are selected, which have been sent to the breeding laboratory of Potato Growing Institute of UAAS, to Station nd. a. O.M. Zasukhin for the further usage in breeding nurseries. Application area: breeding institutions.
