Zaika O. Peculiar features of valuable selection trait's manifestation in the system of diallelic crosses and topcrosses of modern varieties of spring baeley

Subject: spring barley breeding for productivity and stability. Aim: the establishment of some peculiarities of variation, heritability, correlation, ecological stability and the specific features of the components of genetical dispersion in traits and their complex in the varieties, the creation and selection of a new valuable original material on this basis for spring barley breeding. Methods: field, laboratory, genetical and statistical, breeding process technology and variety trialing. Novelty: for the first time under the conditions of the eastern part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine both the peculiarities in manifestation of the complex of valuable traits in modern varieties of spring barley and their variation, heritability, stability, combining ability and genetical dispersion components of traits in the system of diallelis crosses and topcrosses, as well as, the efficiency of valuable lines development on the basis of the determined selection-genetical special features have been stated. Results: on the basis of the established peculiarities in variation, heritability, stability and also selection-genetical special features in the complex of traits some cultivars are selected and new lines as the most valuable original material by the complex of important traits for selection are developed. Application stage: the most valuable varieties for selection are released and used in breeding; new lines of spring barley with the complex valuable traits are created and used in breeding, 4 cultivars of these have been transferred to National Centre for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine, the Certificates on the registration of the genepool's sample of Ukraine have been received for 3 lines. Application area: breeding institutions.
