Linguistic material of research indicated that the code-switching functions were diagnosed according to the following criteria: 1) the communicative setting in accordance with the concrete segment of information reported by a speaker; 2) the communicative relevant phonosemantic features of the concrete message segment; 3) situational communicative characters, specified by socio-linguistic conventions in the society; 4) general pragmatics of a dialogue's semantic blocks.
