Essay

The thesis appears to be a multy-aspect research, done from the standpoint of cognitive linguistics, ethnolinguistics, linguistic evaluating theory. The dissertation focuses on cultural and national peculiarities of space models in the Ukrainian, English and Spanish languages. Two historical strata in the development of spacial notions have been distinguished in the thesis - basic stratum and later cognitive stratum. The peculiarities of space models have been analised in the frames of "na?ve world model", alongside with geometrical and evaluative aspects of semantic oppositions: ahead, front, forward / back; up / down, below, beneath; straight / crookedly and such locatives as middle, edge, place.
