Levkovych N. The folk demonology of Bojkivshchyna

Object: folk demonology as important component of traditional world view of the Boyko. Purpose: complex, comprehensive, scientifically grounded historical-ethnographic description of the demonological system of the Boyko and reconstruction of its basic elements. Methods: ethnologic methods of the field research, historical reconstruction, typological, complex, comparative-historical, structural-functional analysis. Results: in the first time integral historical-ethnographic research of traditional folk demonological beliefs and presentations of population of Boykivshchyna is done in Ukrainian ethnologic science, the wide circle of new factological information is entered – materials of the field ethnographic researches. Sphere of the use: writing to the summarizing monograph, illuminative the traditional culture of the Boyko or Ukrainians of Carpathians; for preparation of the special course on demonology of Ukrainians and Slavs on the whole; for writing of the synthesized publications, manuals on the ethnology of Ukraine.
