Essay

The thesis provides political analysis of the conceptual dimension of the growing pragmatism in international relations, which occurs in the context of democratic developments. The work is based on theoretical and methodological studies of the issue-in-question as well as on summed up views of foreign and Ukrainian political scientist. Also, it employs the facts from the documents issued by international and Ukrainian institutions. The thesis systematically investigates the genesis of democratic processes analyzed in terms of building a new system of international relations that have come in the wake of undoing the "bipolar" world. Specifically, the paper examines the context of pragmatic developments in international relations. Special attention is paid to securing safe conditions for subjects of international relations who co-exist in the shared world space. The work researches into the basic theoretical concept of building up security in international relations. Based on the analysis of development democratic developments and using Ukraine as an example, the paper describes the processes in societies going through a transitional phase. It shows the logical dependence of democratic developments in Ukraine on global democratic developments.
