Essay

The problems of the culture system developing in the transitional period have been analyzed in the thesis. The fact that the phenomenon of synthesity is one of the most important factors in the transitional period culture has been substantiated. The synthesity notion meaning has been defined more precisely: the essence of the synthesity is the use of the meanings from different spheres in order to solve the problems raised by the new stage of culture development. The fact that the synthesity is connected with creativity has been established. These phenomena similarity is being displayed in the perception integrity as well as in the creation of artifacts that haven't existed before. The synthetical tendencies variety in the creative work of the art representatives - the composer A. Skriabin, the painter M. Ciurlionis, the architect A. Gaudi-i-Cornet - at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries has been analyzed. The synthetical peculiarity of Skriabin's art consists in the combining of sounds and colours (light) on the basis of synesthesia (due to which sounds seem to be "coloured") that was embodied in the symphonic poem "Prometheus". The fact that M. Ciurlionis transferred the characteristic features of his music to painting has been substantiated. The synthesity of Ciurlionis' art reveals itself in the musical line projected on a plane, in the correlation of rhythm phenomena and their diversity. The synthetical bases in A. Gaudi-i-Cornet's works were embodied in the combination of traditions and innovations, historical styles and tendencies, arts, regularities of natural forms existence and artistic principles.
