The dissertation is dedicated to the issues of perfecting the high-level short track speed skaters' training process during the preparation macrocycles. Subject of study: the system of preparation of high-level sportsmen in yearly and several-year cycles. Subject of investigation: the training process of the national short-track speed skaters team of Ukraine. Aim of the thesis: justifying of the priority ways of perfecting the methods of high-level short-track speed skaters' preparation. The scientific novelty of the thesis: the following was specified for the first time: the characteristics of training and competition activity of the leading Ukrainian short-track speed skaters; information value of the traditional test exercises; interdependence between the volumes of various types of training exercises and individual indicators of sportsman's preparation. The priority trends of perfecting the process of preparation of high-level short-track speed skaters were identified.
