The dissertation is devoted to the solution of an actual task of modern social medicine - optimization of the work of the medical-social rehabilitation department of the territorial center of the pensioners on the basis of study of the existing needs of the elderly population and condition of their health, as the result the new qualitative functional-structural model of the medical-social rehabilitation department, which demonstrated the social medical and economocal efficiency, has been substantiated.
