The dissertation is devoted to the problem of preparation of the future teachers of fine arts in higher educational institutions to the organization of extracurricular activities in comprehensive schools. In the paper the theoretical and methodological bases of the organization of extracurricular activities in comprehensive schools are analysed. The essence of preparation of the future teachers of fine arts to the organization of extracurricular activities in comprehensive schools is specified, the structure and criteria is developed, and levels of its final result are defined. The pedagogical diagnostics of initial level of readiness of future teachers of fine arts to the organization of extracurricular activities in comprehensive schools is carried out. The author's model of improvement of preparation of the future teachers of fine arts to the organization of extracurricular activities in comprehensive schools is developed and its efficiency is checked up experimentally.
