Object of research is formation and development of science and practice of restoration of agricultural machinery parts by welding and surfacing. Dissertation is devoted to systematic investigation playback picture of the history of formation and development of scientific views on the recovery of parts of agricultural machines and welding surfacing; determination of conceptual basis of this development through the use of the identified patterns and evolution of scientific ideas about restoration details. With help of complex methods in compliance with historical principles and objectivity scientific results were obtained which are formulated on a systematic analysis of the facts, most of them first introduced to the scientific community.
