Zhovta N. Proper names in Kievan Rus related Ukrainian prose.

The results of literary work onymy research, maіnly its name, are summed up. The current stage of Kievan Rus proper names system research in Ukrainian and Western linguistics is analyzed. Attention is focused on mythonymy as the most difficult branch for interpretation. The dissertation touches upon theonymy of historical prose written by Semen Skliarenko, Serhii Plachynda and Valerii Shevchuk as embodiment of pagan consciousness. The mythological as-tronymy of Kievan Rus related historical prose is analyzed. The dissertation contains a research of Kyiv microtoponymy and Kievan Rus toponymy as a system of space markers and embodiment of state power. The onymic images of neighbor countries such as Bulgaria, Byzanthine empire, German lands, nomadic tribes unions, etc. The ethnonymy of historical prose is studied as an example of symbolization of relationship between Kievan Rus and Eastern and Western countries.
