This thesis is dedicated to the investigation of the psychological conditions of the forming of the ecological consciousness in the context of gender. The theoretical aspects of forming of the ecological consciousness are exposed in this work, the contemporary approach to defining of its structure and main qualities have been analyzed. This thesis offers the model of basic spheres of the ecological consciousness: cognitive, behavioral, value-semantic. The leading psychological conceptions of the forming of the ecologically-determined consciousness under the conditions of educational process have been regarded. The expediency of its forming in gender context is substantiated. This work is an attempt of the empirical investigation of the age and gender specific features of the ecological consciousness of schoolchildren in main spheres of their manifestation. As a result, the insufficient level of the development of components of cognitive behavior and value semantic spheres of the ecological consciousness of schoolchildren, as well as high level of personal unsympathy to the surrounding children of all ages were revealed. The psychological conditions of the forming of the ecological consciousness viewed from the gender aspect in education are formed in the thesis. The program of ecology-psychological training is worked out.
