Kolotukha I. Criminal Responsibility of Individuals for Violations of International Humanitarian Law

The historical development of the institute of criminal liability of individuals for violations of international humanitarian law is examined. The basic stages of its evolution from the origin of doctrinal level to implementation on the national and international level and to complete consolidation through the activities of international criminal tribunals and courts are marked out. The problems of international personality of the individual as a subject of liability for violations of international humanitarian law is examined. Separately, the questions about regulation of liability for the commitment of the illegal order is studied. Basic immunities of senior officials and their prosecution are analyzed.
