Essay

The thesis is actually the first comprehensive study epizootology of cats demodecosis invasion. It was elicited, that demodecosis can be registered at any time of year. The highest morbid affection by agents Demodex cati is observed in spring and in autumn, D. gatoi - in spring and in summer. Minimal number of cases of the animals' affection with the demodexes of both types is observed in winter. More frequently female cats are infested by the causative agents of the demodecosis (56,4 %), somewhat more rarely - male cats (43,6 %). The most of the affected animals are identified among out bred cats (34,6 %), the least - for the representatives of rare breeds (Norwegian, snow-shoo, angora). Highest infestation by mites is registered for the affected animals aged 5 to 10 (48,7 %). The least percentage of demodecosis disease is observed among the cats under one year old (1,3 %). The clinical course of demodecosis depends on the type of the causative agent, age of the affected animal and presence of other pathogens in its organism. The basic location of the causatives is skin of muzzle and back. The generalized form of the illness is rarely registered. For the demodecosis skin test it is suggested to use 5% solution of sodium hydroxide. Express-method of diagnostics of illness with the use of sticky acetate tape appeared to be high-performance. The changes of morphological and biochemical blood indexes of the cats affected with demodecosis and their correlation with the pathological processes in the organism are detected. Efficiency medications in the case of cats demodecosis appeared to be dectomax in combination with neostomazan and tsifli-ektomin. Their extenseffectiveness made 83,33-100 % at four times using.
