Radchenko I. Peculiarities for initial material creation of winter bread wheat on productivity in the eastern part of the Steppe and Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

Object: the peculiarities of recombination process at intraspecific hybridization of winter bread wheat. Aim: to establish the peculiarities of form-developing process in the hybrids of winter bread wheat in diallel crossing in the conditions of the eastern part of the Steppe and Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods: field, laboratory, statistic, mathematical. Novelty: the programme for the improvement of winter bread wheat breeding efficiency by means of intraspecific hybridization of the varieties of different genetical and eco-geographical origin is theoretically grounded and practically fulfilled. A possibility for the combination of high productivity and grain quality in the same genotype of wheat is proved. The main elements of a technological process in wheat breeding for grain yield, adaptiveness and grain quality in the conditions of the eastern Steppe and Forest-Steppe of Ukraine are specified. Some positive, correlations between economical traits in the varieties and hybrids of the crop are revealed. Results: for the first time the nature of inheritance of an angle of flag leaf decline and its relation ship with other characters and properties is established. Breeding process is improved by means of revealing and introducing of the varieties-donors of economical traits into hybridization. The new valuable initial material for winter bread wheat breeding for productivity, grain quality and adaptiveness is developed. Application stage: the estimation scale for winter bread wheat as to the angle of decline of flag leaf from for varietal identification of the crop by State service on right protection for plant varieties. Six valuable lines of winter bread wheat have been registered in NCPGRU and used as the initial breeding material in Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuriev of UAAS, Donetsk Institute of AIP of UAAS, Myronivka wheat Institute nd. a. V. M. Remeslo of UAAS. Application area: breeding institutions.
