Ushiy S. Philosophical-pedagogical phenomenon of Mykhailo Dragomanov

The evolution of Mykhailo Dragomanov world-view, directions of his pedagogical and enlightening activity, the contents and directions of his educational concepts, modern cultural learning practice and language policy of Ukraine in the discourse of foundation of the United Europe is analyzed in the paper. The historical significance of scientist's contribution to the development of the Ukrainian intellectual culture, the morality, the revival of a nation's spirituality and personality's education is proved. The summary about the role of the national idea in the development of the culture of a nation, educational work and enlightenment of a population, family pedagogics, national education and the Ukrainian state-formation is substantiated.
