Subject of research - details of recurrence and heredity of quantitative trains in donors of sowing rye shortness. The aim - to establish the genetic features of recurrence and heredity of plant height and productivity traits of three new shortness donors in their crossings with alternatively tall rye varieties. The research methods are field and laboratory, those of variation statistics. The features of heredity and recurrence of quantitative productivity and shortness traits are established and on their basis the methods of rye gene pool expansion on the mentioned traits with its further use when developed the new generation of high-yielding short-stalked rye varieties are devised. The winter rye variety Nausin is developed and submitted to the State strain test in 2008 and the breeding samples with lodging resistance and high productivity level are created. The findings are used in breeding programmes of Nosivka breeding experimental station, All-Ukrainian research institute of breeding, Volyn institute of agroindustrial production, Verkhnyatskyi experimental breeding station of the Institute of root crops. The field of application - breeding research institutions, the agricultural production.
