In this thesis you can find out the results of the theoretical researching of historical-cultural pre-condition of foundation of Poltava's psychological school during the XVIII-XX centuries. The research that had been carried out let us draw a conclusion that psychological idea and science in Poltava region during the XVIII-XX centuries was developed through a row of stages and registration of theoretical-methodological foundation and all of these had reflected in lines content of foundation of Poltava's psychological school: theological, philosophical, literary, linguistical and scientific. As it turned out, that the scientists which were working in Poltava region in different periods present classical-introspectional, natural-scientific and cultural-humanistic direction of psychology. We examined the scientific research of thinkers and psychologists which were born in Poltava region (S. Kuliabka, P. Velychkovskiy, G. Skovoroda, Y. Kozelskiy, P. Yurkevych, I. Kotliarevskuy, M. Gogol, P. Myrnuy, M. Maksymovych, O. Potebnia, O. Scherbyna, O. Lazurskuy, G. Vaschenko, D. Elkonin, D. Аranovska-Dybovis, L. Prokolienko, Y. Gilbyh, V. Moliako) or they simply lived in this region (V. Vernadskuy, A. Makarenko, V. Sykhomlynskuy, V. Morgun) during the development of such branches of psychology as personality psychology, psychology of age and pedagogical psychology.
