The dissertation focuses on the research of the theoretical background of the problem of teaching the Ukrainian students the Japanese grammar aspects taking into account the peculiarities of the Ukrainian and Japanese mentalities. It describes the psycholinguistic, linguistic and methodic basis of teaching the Japanese modal grammar aspects in the process of teaching. The specific methodology of teaching the grammar ways of expressing modality in the Japanese language is presented. Within the developed methodology it gives the explanation of the appropriate steps for learning modal grammar structures, suggests ways for the methodic adaptation of texts with the purpose of presentation the new grammar material. The following activities in the process of teaching are introduced by the sys-tem of exercises and special teaching tables developed by the author. The effectiveness of the developed methodology was based theoretically and studied experimentally.
