The dissertation examines the problem of concertmaster competence development of the future teachers/musicians; it gives an insight into the methodological aspects of the concertmaster training. Conditions conducive to the development of the concertmaster competence in students are analysed; the basic concepts of "concertmaster competence" are scrutinized; "professional-pedagogical competence" of teachers/musicians is determined; the criteria, indicators, and development levels of concertmaster competence are established. The development techniques of the concertmaster competence of the future teachers/musicians are developed and theoretically substantiated; their efficiency is experimentally proved.
