The dissertation focuses on the problem of forming English grammar competence of future teachers who study English as a second foreign language with Spanish being the first one. The research provides theoretical sub-stantiation and practical elaboration of the methodology of forming students’ English grammar competence by means of integrated studies. The didactic, methodological, psychological and psycholinguistic premises of forming English grammar competence have been taken into account. The structure and content of English grammar competence have been determined. A subsystem of exercises to form English grammar competence in oral speech has been substantiated and developed. The model of teaching students English grammar competence within the subject “English as a Second Foreign Language” has been worked out. The effectiveness of the suggested methodology was verified and confirmed during the experimental teaching. Methodological recommendations concerning the formation of English grammar competence in oral speech on principles of integrated studies of future teachers have been developed.
