In the dissertation is investigated a problem of formation of design-figurative thinking at the future designers in a higher educational institution. Is revealed, the essence of a phenomenon of design-figurative thinking of the designer as conscious and purposeful process mental activity of the expert is scientifically proved, as a result of which owing to comprehension of conditions of a problem situation, generation of an image and job with it with the help of design actions the decision of the tasks of design-activity is carried out.
