Linuk O. Woman in a national ritual culture (second part of XIX – XX century)

In the thesis it is shown the main concept of investigation, analyzed historiography and main resources of investigation. It is clearly depicted the role of a woman in calendar rites in the context of folk customs. Also there are analyzed family’s rites and customs to demonstrate the position of a woman in Ukrainian society. It is proved a fundamental relation of a woman to a mythological woman’s nature in summer and spring, Christmas and New Year customs and traditions and undisputable dominance of a woman in main family’s traditions and rituals. It is observed the position of a Ukrainian woman in a system of a “new socialist’s rituals.” On the example of a ritual symbol of Beregyna it is demonstrated positive dynamics of a creation of a contemporary Ukrainian ritual.
