Essay

The problem of teaching law to the 8-grade students of pre-specialized stage of general secondary education has been studied in the thesis. The elaboration of this problem in the theory and practice of teaching law in the process of education of adolescents in domestic and foreign pedagogical paradigms has been carefully analyzed. It was found that the main form of pre-specialized training in law is an optional course for students. It has been proved that among the main preconditions of the effectiveness of pre- specialized training in law is the consistent implementation of the competency approach. Students should also achieve a certain level of legal competence in the subject as a unity of cognitive, behavioral, practical and axiological components. Another important condition is the organization of the learning process based on interactive methods. Lesson planning should be seen as creation of a balanced system, which involves correlation of its intended learning outcomes and its content. It is necessary to involve jurisprudence experts as source persons to the learning process as well. The author has developed a range of methods of teaching law to the 8-grade students of pre-specialized stage, which have been theoretically grounded and experimentally proved.
