Essay

The world and Ukrainian market of bentonitic clays are characterized. The estimation of raw-material bases of bentonitic clays of Ukraine was carried out using with a ball scale, method of reduction coefficients, regressive-correlation analysis. As a result of geological-economic estimation, conducted with three methods, the Cherkassk deposit is defined as the most perspective object. Ilnitske, Gorbkivske, Grigorivske, Sorischenske deposits are confirmed as perspective. Optimum parameters have been determined for express-diagnostics of clay composition. Combination of X-ray phase and X-ray microprobe analyses can be used for express-diagnostics of bentonite quality.
